Speed and Quick are relatively the same thing in a small space but quick would be faster.
Quick counts in 94 feet

He was "quick" to pull the trigger on his shot.

Re: Fastest NBA Player Ever?
Depends on the definition of fast. Lateral speed with the ball I'd say AI or Isiah. Downcourt speed I'm thinking Lebron James.

Very good NBA starter
Re: Fastest NBA Player Ever?
With the ball on fast break
Barkley
Dr J
Jordan (one of the quickest too)
Drexler
Lebron
Without the ball
Karl Malone
Iverson was one of the quickest but in terms of fast = potent too not so much

Re: Fastest NBA Player Ever?
Another guy I remember who had ridiculous downcourt speed with the ball was Eddie Jones. Chucky Atkins was pretty fast in his prime too.

Decent college freshman
Re: Fastest NBA Player Ever?

He was pretty fat for a while in Houston, not in Philly or Phoenix, but he definitely had a belly and some flab in Houston.

Lebron disagreed strongly when he chased him down, caught up and smacked his shit off the glass. Not once, but twice.

Look when they are running they are more or less at the same spot on the floor. Its not indicative of Lebron being able to run faster but more indicative of his freakish natural leaping ability. Not to say he isn't faster than him but im a Rondo homer and would really love it if he was the fastest.

Re: Fastest NBA Player Ever?
If you were going for quickness, I'd say Ty Lawson. That dude is like a squirrel on crack.
If you were going for the fastest player, as in top speed, its pretty obvious... its Lebron. Nobody covers more ground in such a short amount of time. There is a reason he can sprint down anybody, whenever he wish...
And one of the reasons is for example Lebrons 40-yard-dash time... it was measured 4.3-4.4 seconds at the combine, thats when he was 17-18, he probably is a bit faster now... the world record is 4.24 seconds.... think about that... The fastest widerecievers like Reggie Bush, Justin Gaitlin ran also 4.3 seconds.... The best widereciever today (Larry Fitzgerald) ran 4.5 seconds.... Steve Smith (what many say was the fastest) ran 4.4 seconds...... just something to think about... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/40-yard_dash
Its extremly doubtful anybody in the NBA is faster than that.... as also evident in many videos of Lebrons in Youtube for example:
