Pre-1991 Playoff Gamelogs of players
I was hoping to make this thread a database of game logs for some players before 1991 (when bballreference stops showing boxscores for playoff games). I know couple of people asked for it in some earlier topics so I'll post what I have here.
I had these saved on my old computer from over the years so I'll start off with some logs of Hakeem, Barkley, Magic, Bird, KAJ etc etc. I haven't completed all of them, but if anyone wants to help out then do it. I know few other people also look at this stuff so it's probably better and more efficient if we combine our resources.

Re: Pre-1991 Playoff Gamelogs of players
Has anyone ever seen anything from 1988 Rockets/Mavs? I've looked but never seen even a single clip from that series.

Re: Pre-1991 Playoff Gamelogs of players
Olajuwon is just a sick joke when it comes to elimination games.

I've seen game 2 and 4. They are not in the best quality, I might upload his highlights from game 2 soon though. The guards shot dreadfully in that series (Sleepy Floyd had a big game 2 as well but in the other three games, just awful shooting).

In his prime ('93-'95), he faced elimination 10 times and his record was 9-1 in those games (and the game he lost was in overtime after his team got screwed). This is what he did in those games:
31/21/7/3/3
23/17/9/3/2
37/17/5/3
25/10/7/3
40/8/3
33/10/4
31/16/3
30/8/10/5
29/11/4
Doesn't even begin to explain all the clutch shots he hit in these games as well.

Re: Pre-1991 Playoff Gamelogs of players
Has the best player in the league ever been outplayed at his position like Kareem against Thurmond? Not really trying to make Kareem sound bad, but I'm just saying I'd love to see those series and see what happened. It definitely looks pretty bad on paper.

Thurmond's statlines were often worse on worse percentages. I think '72 was the series where he outplayed him on paper (KAJ actually had a good series against him in '71...the best scoring series anyone's ever put on Thurmond, and outplayed him on paper in '73). Regardless, he did outplay Kareem in the sense that he did his job but KAJ didn't do his. If you were big and strong, you could really bother Kareem in his Bucks years (he was way too skinny, hadn't added the turnaround jumper yet etc etc). He could be flat out bullied out of position.

Well I was just thinking that on top of the stats, Thurmond was a much better defender. I know he didn't put up 23-15 like Kareem.

I really would like to see Magic's game logs from '80, '82, '86, and '87.

Those games I remember as they happened. No other basketball player has really come close to replacing Olajuwon as my No. 1 since then. Unfortunately, the Rockets got little national facetime in the mid-90s. It wasn't until after the unbelievable back-to-back runs that they got their due and while Olajuwon was still elite a couple years after (unbelievable in the 97 WCF) he was already entering his mid-30s.
Thanks for those logs and all the YT stuff. It's an addiction.
