Kobe was a bona fide role player, you dont ask question like that. Will you ever say Derek Fisher got carried by Shaq? Of course they were carried by the star player, because they are simply not good enough to do the carrying. That applies to Kob.

From what I remember shaq had more of an impact then Kobe in their respective series. Shaq still drew a lot of defensive attention, rebounded the ball well, and shot a lot better from the floor than Kobe. However Kobe did win the crucial game 4 with a great game, burying some big shots and basically ending the series while shaq was on the bench. Both were pretty disappointing in the closeout game (although kobe was definitely better), and kobe shot like garbage the last 2 games...

I'll say Shaq in 2006. Kobe, while putting up 15 points per game, still had 4 ast, 4 rebounds and 1.4 blocks. He was still doing work and contributing. Shaq on the other hand, scored only 13, did grab 10 rebounds which helped, but the man had less blocks than Dwyane Wade. For a big man who is suppose to be the defensive anchor, he's being outplayed by his guard. The biggest plus Shaq has over Kobe in these finals, Shaq still demanded the defense to take notice, which helped bring in the performance Wade put on. Ultimately, Shaq was pretty much useless in the finals for anything other than rebounds and taking pressure off Wade.
