the magic eliminated the cavs, they closed out the cavs.. Same damn thing you idiot. You can call it an elimination game, or a close out game, either way you lable it youre talking about the same game.
And it's funny, because whenever we see stats for Lebrons "elimination games" they never include game 6 against the magic or any game where he was eliminated.
LOL you can call anything semantics. I can tell you that a grapefruit is a Cadillac, and if you deny it, then I can just accuse you of arguing semantics, since I have decided that a grapefruit is a Cadillac. But you're still wrong
It's universally recognized that a closeout game refers to a game which advances your team with a win, whereas an elimination game refers to one which advances your opponent with a loss. You got exposed for not knowing the definitions, which is okay. Just move on.

I completely agree. Survival instinct is better than nothing, but killer instinct is the ultimate trait in a competitor. On that note, Jordan > LeBron.

i would say lebron is clearly better in elimination games. better stats, played better teams, and jordan, while great, didnt play in as many because his teams were always competitive/elite. 2 of the games i listed were from when lebron played in cleveland, a bit more impressive imo.
also people need to distinguish the difference between an elimination game and close out game. if your team is one game away from being eliminated, thats an elimination game. close out games are when your teams are one away from advancing. big difference (the stakes are higher in elim games).

his game 7 topped that, though. probably the greatest game 7 performance in history.

kobe is actually one of the worst elimination game players (superstar standards).
dirk, lebron, magic, and bird are all better in that regard.

In the finals, James Worthy in 1988, Bill Russell in 1962, Jerry West in 1969 (in defeat) and Walt Frazier in 1970.
In the conference and semi-finals, there's several game 7 performances that were insane

So MJ shot 45.1% in elimination games. What is the comparable figure for LeBron? Prime MJ was money in elimination games. His poorer performances (by his standards) came early and late in his career. Note how often MJ managed to also contribute via boards and assists, a trait LeBron shares in elimination games.
Also does anyone know KAJ's numbers in elimination games? He was consistently clutch in his career so I imagine he ranks up there with MJ and LeBron as an elimination game performer.
