    Default Marques Johnson:

As part of today’s edition of Hoopin’ It Up with Ol’ Skool, former NBA great [B]Marques Johnson said that new Cleveland Cavaliers head coach David Blatt is over his head in the NBA, and sees Jeff Van Gundy as a potential candidate to replace Blatt as the leader of a star-studded team next season.

MJ warned them that Blatt's coaching style is not NBA level. I think with the current success of former NBA commentator Steve Kerr. I want to see Van Gundy return as an NBA Coach. He's a better coach than his brother.

He led the 8th seeded Knicks in the NBA Finals in 1999.

Kerr also has a brilliant offensive mind in Alvin Gentry as an assistant and potentially the top defensive assistant in the league in Ron Adams on his staff.

I think I'd like to see Mike Malone coach this team. CP3 really likes him and LBJ trusts CP3, so he'd be more likely to back up Malone. Good tactician and tough-minded, so he wouldn't tolerate deviation from schemes as much as Blatt does.

I like JVG but he's been out of the league for a long time. He's cognizant of the analytical and pace/space approaches to the game, which is a boon considering the style this team should play. Just wonder if players would react well to him or not. He's certainly a worthy candidate.

Lebron won 2 Gold Medals with Coach K. Mike Krzyzewski called LeBron 'most unique player' ever.

Lebron is more coach able than Kobe.

I don't think it would work. JVG has an ego, and is a strict coach....Lebron just wants to play Lebron ball.

"most unique player" that sounds like saying a girl has a "nice personality"

Coach K meant Lebron can't do all the things that a MJ and kobe can do

Same numbers of NBA titles at age 30. I still think the Cavs might make it to the conference finals once they finally solve some of their problems. (Coaching, and getting a healthy Lebron back).

Mike is the best basketball player ever but the 6 out of 6 arguement is so bullshit. If you are counting just the rings, its fine. But just because Mike never lost in a final doesn't make it a better record than lets say someone who wins 6/10. Are you going to criticize the guy for going to the NBA finals 4 more times than Mike?

If the Cavs do fire Blatt, what are the chances of them striking gold instantly and with enough timeliness to compete in the playoffs?
