Default Lakers season defined by 3 games

Assuming the Lakers win some games, and (most likely team given schedule) the Jazz fall out of the playoff picture, LA's chances to make noise in the postseason will be defined by their performance in the following games:

march 5 @ okc
april 7 @ clippers
april 14 vs spurs

Realistically, LA needs to find a way to win 2 out of 3 of these games to establish themselves as legitimate playoff contenders, if they do in fact make the postseason. None of them are part of a b2b.

I might reconsider if they lose all 3 in triple overtime, and likewise if they lose to okc by 36 and win by 1 point in the other two games, the bet is off.

Today's game @ okc is the biggest game of the season so far for LA.

Agree or disagree that they need 2 wins to convince you they are legitimate.

With all due respect I don't agree. LA could smash OKC by 30 points tonight and it won't mean jack in the playoffs. To win in the playoffs you must be healthy, be able to make adjustments on the fly and be playing good basketball at that time. Teams are up and down a lot during the season. Timing is everything.

Right now LA is playing better than they have all year. However, they are still missing key players. What's more, they still can't get stops on defense. If they can't find a way to play consistent defense they are going home in round one.

I think the sooner they slide up into the 8 spot the better. Can't let any games slip away at this point..
I don't see those 3 as any different to the rest really, they're all must win now

OKC is not the biggest game of the season. Most "see" it as a loss. Most important games are vs GSW and HOU.

I can't see the Lakers getting higher than #6 seed so it'll be one of OKC, SAS or LAC in the 1st round.
