They weren't though, you lying little cuck. Brick played against the '08 Spurs and LeBron played against the '07 Spurs.

    2007 Spurs:

ORtg - 5th in the League

DRtg - 2nd in the League

Team PPG - 15th in the League

Opp PPG - 1st in the League

    SRS - #1

    2008 Spurs:

ORtg - 15th in the League

DRtg - 3rd in the League

Team PPG - 28th in the League

Opp PPG - 3rd in the League

    SRS - #7

That's cute, Bron beat a 73-win team without all stars though

Western Conference was more stacked in 08 & obviously Boston formed their team in 08. Despite all that the Spurs won 56 games and Duncan played much better against the Lakers than he did vs. Cavs.

So how come did the Lakers beat the Spurs in 5 games, despite Duncan being much better and completely destroying Gasol in the match-up?

The answer is: Kobe Bryant was much better than Lebron James, bringing the Lakers back from down 20 and taking over 4th quarters.

Wait, what? The West was trash till '07 and suddenly got stacked? Is that the narrative that you're going to run with now?

And the Celtics play in the Eastern Conference. It literally has no bearing on the Spurs' DRtg and ORtg.

    Also, this happened:

    2007 Spurs:

ORtg - 5th in the League

DRtg - 2nd in the League

Team PPG - 15th in the League

Opp PPG - 1st in the League

Those are undeniable and irrefutable facts.

Funny how you left out Duncan's percentages. Didn't suit your agenda?

Yeah, Duncan played better, but TP and Manu were significantly better.

Duncan destroyed Pau? Do you know what Big Z dropped on Duncan? A whopping 7.8 PPG on 35% shooting. The Spurs beat the Cavs because the Cavs were a shit team.

The answer is: The '07 Spurs =/= '08 Spurs. Manu and TP played much better against the Cavs and the Lakers had a significantly better team.

You can cry all you want, but LeBron is a top 3 GOAT and Brick will soon get kicked out of the top 15 by Durant and Curry.

Lakers improved and became the best team in the West from a 7th seed.
2007 you had five 50+ win teams, 2008 you had eight 50+ win teams, you needed 50 wins just to make the Playoffs as opposed to 42 the previous year, that's a huge improvement.

Teams like the Jazz & Hornets came of age and got better as Deron & Chris Paul continued to improve their games and obviously Melo came into his prime and that Nuggets team added AI, who was still playing at a very high level, posting his most efficient scoring season of his career. The 9th seed Warriors had 48 wins that season, but tell me that the West didn't get A LOT better.

Despite all that, the Spurs only won 2 less games than the year before, losing the 1st seed battle to the Lakers late in the season @Staples.

So obviously the Spurs' SRS dipped with how much better the Conference was, but they were still one game from being the #1 seed.

You can look at the Playoff numbers. Parker was better in 08, Duncan was on the same level overall but played miles better against the Lakers than he did vs. Cavs, Manu was better both in the RS and Playoffs.

I don't want to hear any more excuses from you. Talk about how poor Lebron was against the Spurs compared to Kobe.

What is even the point of this thread? Kobe has never beaten a team "By Himself" in his life (neither has LeBron for that matter) LeBron has won 4 League MVPS, 3 Finals MVP's and 3 championships. And he's still one of the 5 best players in the league at year 16. No one thinks Kobe is better than LeBron except retarded Laker/Kobe stans. Give it a rest.

    The #1 seed in '08 would've been the #4 seed in '07.

Oh, and if a Melo who was older than LeBron just came into his prime in '08, what does that make LeBron?

Manu in '07 vs the Cavs - 18/6/3/1 on 57% TS

Manu in '08 vs the Lakers - 13/3/3 on 53%

TP in '07 vs the Cavs - 25/5/3/1 on 60% TS

TP in '08 vs the Lakers - 19/4/6/1 on 52%

Both Manu and TP were significantly better vs the Cavs then they were against the Lakers.

The #2 on the Lakers was putting up 13/10/4/1/2 and the #3 was putting up 13/10/3/1.

I would, but they didn't play the same Spurs team. How difficult of a concept is that to understand? I don't want to hear any more asinine bullshit from you, comparing Kobe on a stacked team and LeBron playing with trash.

Besides you're comparing a 21 year old on a trash team to a dude in his absolute peak. Want to talk about how LeBron and Kobe did versus the Thunder?

While we're at it, lets also talk about how Brick missed the PO's during his PRIME.

Pop could easily game plan for Bran; he'd usually just play him straight up because he's not a great one on one player.

Pop had to double and triple Kobe.

This is when they still allowed a little defense.

It's a response thread to Lebron beating the 2015 Hawks all by himself, while Jordan wasn't able to beat the 86 Celtics, all by himself, I guess.
