Default Is Tayshaun Prince a Point-Forward?

During the 2008 playoffs, Tayshaun Prince was called upon to help out in handling the ball while Chauncey Billups was hampered with a hamstring injury…

Is Prince reliable as a point-forward? The Pistons are currently considering shopping Billups… maybe Dumars and Curry feel Prince can assist in handling the ball as well as setting up some much need offense

Tayshaun Prince is too skinny to be a Point Forward. Seriously.

No. His inability to drive to his right is a big liability. Unless all he is doing is walking it up then passing it...

is he or could he be? He definitely could be (he can play the 1-5 though he will get pushed around by the bigs a little). he has been effective in spots as the primary handler/facilitator. there are only a handful of players in the league who have the physique, ability, and mental acumen to even potentially be a point forward, and tay is one of them. but he really hasnt been used that way and probably wont. no one is really used as a pf anymore except, maybe, lebron.

that is a weak part of his game. while i agree that it does limit him slightly, hes still a potential threat in enough ways to keep you guessing.

I guess heres my point. Would i be thrilled with a team that used him as a starting handler? no. But I would enjoy seeing him handle it 8-12 a game in a different look. not every game mind you, but an option

I would say Prince could play the point-forward position, But I would rather not have him play that position.

He could and has shown at times, but I don't think it'd be wise to have him playing point more than 10-15 minutes a game.
