That's true, and though I don't believe in just scaling a player's stats down with pace, I don't think we should just ignore it.

    I do. My list:

    Jordan
    KAJ
    Russell
    Magic
    Wilt/Bird/Shaq in some order
    Duncan (#8)
    Lebron
    Kobe
    Hakeem

Lebron's huge edge in MVP's and statistical domination over Kobe put him ahead imo.

In sports, I think guys like MJ, Ruth, and Ali are practically untouchable for the GOAT in their sports. U have guys who are close in talent or maybe just as good. But it's their overall impacts and career resumes that puts them over the top. The fact that MJ overtook Magic and Bird WASN'T expected when he was drafted in '84. Lebron from day one was crowned to be one day on a head on collision with Bird as the GOAT SF. And the fact that he lived up to those expectations is epic.

I think Bron could end up as high as #2 on the GOAT list if he can win at least a total of 4 rings. Even if he doesn't win as many rings as MJ, his career numbers could be 30,000+ points, 10,000+ rebounds, and 10,000 + assists. Nobody HAS EVEN COME CLOSE to that kind of dominant all around production. He already has multiple rings, MVPs, and gold medals. And is also the most versatile player of all time.

He is not in this group yet, but he could be by the time he is done.

He's hardly the worst flopper in the league and he doesn't even flop that much.

West and Robertson clearly didn't have a bigger impact on the floor than Shaq or Duncan.

Let me make it clear. My Legends tier doesn't include any active player. Kobe, Lebron, Duncan, may make it when their work is finished. I don't include Shaq because even though I think he had one of the top five peaks ever. I thought a lot of that was because he was allowed to knock people over in order to score. If they had called those one thousand offensive fouls on him the I would be good with him.
