So this guy

    is this thread a joke?

the list is based on careers and people are considering anyone but kareem?

cap has a better overall career than mike

and if OP's list wasnt based on careers and instead primes then big O would be the PG, elgin baylor would be SF, and charles barkley would play PF

shut this mother f*cking thread down

take away all success and big O, baylor, barkley are the right choices

know your history son. do a bit of research before using gif responses

and kobe at his best = 35/5/5 modern era + 81 modern era + out scoring teams by himself + 62 in 3 quarters while mike only ever scored 61 through 4 quarters... kobe at his best is right there with MJ

I wouldn't except a dumbfuck like you to understand unit cohesion and the ability of players to play defense.

A team of Magic/Jordan/Bird/Duncan/Shaq would take a massive steaming pile of shit on that team of yours. There's literally no one on your team who can stop Magic/Duncan/Bird. Meanwhile, Duncan can absolutely shut down Chuck and Bird can slow down Baylor. Heck, replace Bird with Pippen and Baylor is getting shutdown as well.

Wow! Kobe had 2 games better than MJ. How many 60 point games, 50 point games, 40 PPG+ series, 40 PPG PO's, 35 PPG PO runs, etc?

MJ >>>>>>>>>> Kobe and it's not even remotely close.

    you mean expect right?

and wtf since when are we talking about how the all time 5 would play together?

if we're just making teams to compete thats a whole different story than the all time best 5

why would you have magic johnson or any ball dominant play making PG that runs fast break basketball if you dont have complimentary players?

that wouldnt gell with half court iso guys like jordan etc...

if youre putting together a team to win you have to consider defensive specialists and not pick all offensive weapons

a team can have at most 3 offensive juggernauts on the floor at once

if youre building around magic you need shooters with defense that run the floor and are unselfish

if you have guys like bird and jordan or an iso offensive center like wilt/shaq... then you need an unselfish spot up three point shooting defensive minded PG

which is why shaq/jordan/kobe types won with PG's like kerr/fisher

kobe and pippen brought up the ball and were the scoring/playmakers

jordan and shaq were the post up guys kicking it out

learn a bit about basketball.. then get back to me

if we're making a team based on how well they would play together and offensive/defensive cohesiveness

    i'm going with

PG - stockton ( best offensive/defensive PG ever with spot up 3pt shooting )
SG - Kobe ( best high volume scorer with D that can co exist with shaq )
SF - Bird ( unselfish with passing/D. likes kobe and wants to play with him )
PF - Rodman ( dont need more offense. just rebounding and D )
    C - Shaq ( works best with kobe )

this is the perfect team that IMO would complinent each other best

And that's exactly what I did. I have one of the GOAT perimeter defenders, one of the GOAT interior defenders, and another 2 very good-elite defenders in Shaq and Bird.

Again, stop talking out your ass. You literally have no basketball knowledge.

MJ and Bird can play off the ball and they're VERY good at it. As is Duncan.

Seems like the only basketball you know is scoring and more scoring.

EDIT: You do know that Baylor averaged 24 shots a game and O averaged 20, right? First you hide behind stats, when I bring up defense and chemistry, you start babbling like an idiot.

jordan isnt a good outside shooter LOL

you need a guy like kobe if youre playing with dominant offensive post players

otherwise jordan has to stand on the other side of the court when shaq or wilt have the ball

kobe is the better choice on a super team

jordans wide open three point percentage with thousands of less attempts is still lower than kobe ( a high volume contested 3 point shooter )

kobes range is unlimited... you want shaq or wilt kicking it out to him

on that team? gimme young agile bill walton and call it a night.

tho the best guy for that team is clearly young sabonis

edit: though kg and young shaq would be better than any other possible combination imo, with those other starters

MJ is a MUCH better shooter than Kobe. Not even close.

Offensive post players? Bird, MJ, Magic, Shaq, and Duncan. All of them.

Kobe is NEVER a better choice, when MJ is still available.

Kobe, even more wide open for his 3's shoots 33.1% form the 3. MJ is at 33.2%. This doesn't take into account the mid-rarnge game, in which MJ makes Kobe look like a scrub.

What does it matter when he's shooting the same % as MJ?

Oh, and MJ is a better post player, playmaker, defender, offball player, etc.. Kobe has literally no arguments over MJ.
