he isn't a better rebounder. certainly not better a better offensive rebounder.

apart from that, yes noah is pretty much better at every facet of the game. lol even personality wise. there's a reason he's one of my favourite players.

but the point of this thread is that varejao is pretty much noah-lite. he's a great ball handler, a solid passer, can finish around the hoop, hit a jumper, he hustles like a maniac, plays solid defense, has a lot of weight on him for bumping around the hoop, still very agile, etc etc etc

if he can stay on the court, i think he'll be a really important part of this cavs team. but if he goes down with an injury, i think that could be the difference between championship or bust. maybe haywood can fill in but i wouldn't be so confident in that replacement.

noah has a big advantage in lateral mobility ... can switch to wings for a couple of possessions and it makes him an elite PNR defender. <--- biggest difference.

noah is also a gifted passer, varejao is only decent.
noah is a leader and a great communicator, an obnoxious one, but a leader, reminds me of KG in this aspect. varejao is not.
noah is a better rim protector, better timing, benefits from the better lateral mobility to recover/help faster.
noah has higher stamina.

varejao is imo the better rebounder
varejao can finish at the rim better, including reverses
