I'm really impressed and amazing how much Joe was spot on with the first part. That's about my thoughts on it, too...

I listen to JRE often, but I must have missed this episode. Anyway, this is right on.

It's only a trap for those who don't believe that they have the power to do whatever they want to do. Otherwise, it's just a nice fall back. Say you aren't content with where you are at doing what you want to do... It's a lot of work and although you like it, the payoff isn't that great. You decide you want to start making more money... you hook up with a corporation you can get behind and then you are set.

I am all for following your own path, but it isn't a trap to follow other's proven paths that will make you a good living... especially if you have other mouths to feed. You can still follow your own path on the side too and make headway. Being materialistic may seem like a trap, but every time you buy something that someone else made you are stimulating the economy and that's good for everyone. You really can't lose no matter what you do.

    A) your office job is most likely useless and serves the humanity in no way
    B) your personality must not be of a noble homus sapiens because you're fine with earning checks and not contributing to humanity
    C) all of the above

lol my contribution is just as valid as the contribution from a comedian.

maybe even more because it requires a lot of skills and the purpose is not just to entertain people

good luck in a society full of artists and people with shitty youtube channels

doesn't matter my point is that beeing a comedian is a job like doctor, lawer or architect or burger flipper.

but somehow he sounds like he's some revolutionizer

I could make a vid with sad music how I made it to the office while other poor humans have to live a comedians

I'd say that doctors, lawyers and architects are in a class of one, then comedian could be here and there, but still a contributing job, while flipping burgers is just unneccessary job that gets one money.

It's not fair to say that office jobs are shit as you shouldn't measure humans with the same stick, but I might do it one day once I find rationale good enough.

If you work in a bank, in marketing or even as a lawyer in some cases - you're work is pretty much redundant, as you only navigating the wasteful system that we have nowdays. If you're a waiter or starbucks barista, this is a job to keep you occupied since you could be replaced with the machine easily. NWO much.

But if you really like it it's fine. If that's what you want to do. Maybe you're not sociopath and somehow you like it for some reason. A pass.
