Rank the top 10 cities you'd like to live and play in
Let's once and for all see what teams are the most attractive.
Let's also assume that every team is a contender to keep it fair and take away the current state of the team.
You could base your ranking on anything. City, weather, history, fame, front office, coaching, women.
For me:
1. Knicks = King of NYC, who wouldn't want that?
2. Lakers = Great city, amazing franchise.
3. Heat = Based on the city. One of my favorites, the weather, the women, the lifestyle, taxes...
4. Raptors = Amazing city, great fanbase. A whole country
5. Clippers = City, weather, fame.
6. Bulls = Big city, great fanbase, great history, big market
7. Magic = The weather, all about that weather
8. Celtics = Great fanbase, great history, winning mentality, sports town.
9. Spurs = Pop, ability to stay on top
10. Nets = NYC, crazy owner who pays a lot

Why do so many people think LA is some great city. It's not even close to NY or Chicago.

That's all it is. Nothing past that.
EDIT: I forgot to look at it in the eyes of an athlete. Carry on.

Top 5 are obvious. No income tax.
Knicks and Nets would probably be near the bottom for me. Terrible weather, awful franchises. Trust me, the North East is miserable for almost half the year. You freeze your ass off, the sun goes down at 5 PM, driving conditions are terrible, etc. It's ****ing awful.

True, probably would put all the Texas and Cali teams.

Yet, Toronto still make your Top 9. Damn, what a city.

Toronto is probably the best city in North America. Climate is the only bad part about it.

I prefer Montreal and Vancouver if we are talking about Canada, but Toronto is still nice
I'd choose Cali overall, obviously the Lakers over the Clips lol
For architecture and urban planning, Manhattan takes the cake imo. as I hate sprawl
Being a rich athlete you'd want a big house away from all the annoying people. The L.A. area has Beverly Hills, Malibu, etc. + the weather, scenery, laid back attitude, and fine women

I'm guessing you've never been to LA. And if you have, what part?
The south bay (where I grew up): Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach, Palos Verdes, all the way up to Santa Monica are some of the most beautiful places to live in the states.

New York is clearly the best city in the states IMO, but LA is the only other city that comes close (San Fran is up there as well).
