Amnestying Perkins does absolutely nothing for OKC. Doesn't open cap space. Doesn't save them money (well some money, depends who makes an offer).

So basically you just want to amnesty him out of frustration. A bit reactionary, eh?

Unless someone is dumb enough to trade for him, Thunder fans are stuck with the Dwight stopper

Just think, if Thunder didn't have Perkins, maybe they could have kept James Harden. Something to think about, eh?

Kendrick Perkins is a parasite to the Thunder team.

He cost them Jeff Green, and ultimately James Harden.

If OKC had either of those two players, they would still be in the playoffs right now even with Westbrook out.

Hell, amnesty Perkins just for the simple reason of addition by subtraction.

Playing Collison over Perkins (even if it means giving Collison more minutes than he's used to) would result in a better +/- net gain for the Thunder.

Also cost them the draft pick the Celtics used on Fab Melo, who'd probably be as useful as Perkins at the moment, for 1/5th of the cost.

There must honestly be hundreds of 6'10 players that didnt make the NBA sitting at home thinking 'wtf is this shit? I can do what he does'

He is a disgrace to basketball. He really is.

hopefully he joins the heat. he can be the starting C and Birdman can still come off the bench. now we'll have two legit tall guys who can defend and rebound and it will be all over for the league... again.

Perkins pretty much serves one purpose and one purpose only. To guard the likes of Bynum and Dwight.

When you have guys like Marc Gasol, Z-Bo, or even Bosh, who are bigs that capable of playing away from the rim and hitting jump shots, he's useless.

Calm down OKC fans. You will need him next year in the WCF against the Lakers with a healthy Dwight.

While he will never be the player he was pre injury he can still fill a needed role even if he does have a poor contract. He looked worse than normal because of the offensive struggles of the whole team. No Harden/Westbrook means perkins screens on PnR weren't as useful. Also, because Durant had to play with the ball in his hands more Perkins wasn't able to screen for Durant off ball as much to free him up.

You weren't winning anything this year anyways. If anything I would be mad at Martin and Ibaka you guys needed more from them offensively.
