I just got done playing a staff vs students basketball game. 4 of us played HS ball in the 90s. Pre-game I made 9/10, 3/4 from 3, a turnaround and a floater. In game I went 0-7, 0-1 3PT, 4 TO, 2 OR, 1 AST, and was scored on 1-1. Talk about brutal. Every time I beat my man and drove into the paint they somehow stripped the ball from me. They were fast and totally embarrassed us. And our kids are not even that good...2-5 league and we lost 11-91 in a tournament game despite being coached by that teams former coach. I'm usually the best player at 24 fitness where there's always 1 former HS baller but this was a whole new level.

Well, I actually annihilated the guy guarding me months ago on the black top, going 1-on-1, but he was a different beast in a team setting on hardwood.

Well, I'm from the 90s and these kids are from today, so yeah, players from the 90's can't compare to players of today. It's a different game. Everyone on the team can pass whereas back then, the only guy who could really pass was the PG. These days all players have PG skills at least comparable to the 90s.
