People keep comparing him to Dirk. But Porzingis is 7'3 AND very athletic for a player that size. So when it comes to that, I see more Ralph Sampson in his game. He also has some impressive shooting range for a player that size too. So I think he has some Sabonis in him.

But overall, I ACTUALLY think he's closer to Sampson (athletic ability, finesse, body type) than anybody. Plus Sabonis was a center. While I think Sampson and KP are PF-C hybrids.

So if he can get close to Sampson at his best (22 points, 10-11 boards, 2 blocks) AND stay healthy, u are talking a consistent All Star with HOF potential. And THE GUY who can carry out what Sampson was on his way to accomplishing.

He's a blonde Euro, hence the Dirk comparisons. I dont see a resemblance in their game.

Once again with the Dirk comparison, Dirk is one of the greatest shooters of all time. And when it comes to the big man positions, likely the best shooter of all time. KP can shoot very good, but his J (at least as of now) isn't on Dirk's level. His athletic ability, interior defense, and inside-outside offensive skills are more like a Sampson. Plus Dirk is 3-4 inches shorter. In KP's case (like a Sampson) he can be great at more things. But I'm not saying he will be better than Dirk though.

Height wise, he's similar to Smits and Big Z. BUT he's WAY MORE ATHLETIC!!! And he can handle the ball better as well. And KP's main position as of right now is PF. He's a PF-C hybrid. Smits and Big Z are centers flat out. For guys 7'3 and up, KP, Sampson, and young Sabonis are on another level than other guys that size. In terms of agility and skill level. He's more in line with those guys.

I see why some people say Dirk in terms of the midrange game and very good handles for a 7 footer. But once again, Dirk is three to four inches shorter than KP. And is a better three point shooter. While KP is more effective in the interior than Dirk.
