Default 2011 Draft vs 2012 Draft

2011

PG: Kyrie Irving - Isaiah Thomas - Kemba Walker - Brandon Knight - Reggie Jackson - Norris Cole
SG: Klay Thompson - Alec Burks - Iman Shumpert
SF: Kawhi Leonard - Chandler Parsons - Jimmy Butler - Tobias Harris - Kyle Singler
PF: Kenneth Faried - Tristan Thompson - Derrick Williams - Markief Morris
C: Jonas Valanciunas - Nikola Vucevic - Enes Kanter

2012

PG: Damian Lillard - Kendall Marshall - Tony Wroten
SG: Bradley Beal - Dion Waiters - Terrence Ross - Jeremy Lamb - Will Barton
SF: Draymond Green - MKG - Harrison Barnes
PF: Anthony Davis - Terrence Jones - John Henson - Thomas Robinson
C: Andre Drummond - Miles Plumlee - Jared Sullinger

Both starting lineups have at least 2 All-Stars, and the depth includes players who have all gotten burn and shown they can play. IMO 2011 has PG and SF, 2012 has SG and PF, and C looks like a wash.

Which draft will be viewed as better in the future?

The 2012 team would probably beat the 2011 team in a game.

Waiters would likely start over Beal by virtue of being equal or better at everything, except shooting. Just saying. Beal gets hype because he had a good run in the playoffs.

2012 probably.

Davis and Drummond have sky high ceilings. Davis is almost assuredly going to be an all-time great barring injuries, he's already a 21/10/2/3/1 player and he just turned 21 this past season. I can't say definitively that anyone in the 2011 draft is going to be an all-time great, though Kyrie and Kawhi have good chances. Drummond could be a monster as well, but even if he doesn't, Lillard as the 2nd best player in 2012 is better than anyone in 2011.

Then you have guys like Beal and Waiters who have yet to break out. That usually happens in players' 3rd seasons, which for them hasn't happened yet.

2011 has the more depth, but I think up at the top 2012 has the edge. And historically, we remember the elite players far more than the decent-good players.

Drummond and Davis have me leaning toward the 2012 class. But the 2011 is stacked at the 2 and 3 with Kawhi, Parsons, Klay, Shumpert, Butler, etc.

2012 for bigs, 2011 for perimeter players
