Re: Ric Bucher: Camby to Portland is DONE DEAL
First bad trade Dunleavy has made since he has gotten here (yes, I believe he was the mind behind the Jaric/Cassell swap along with the Wilcox/Radman one).

With Outlaw coming to town, I think the clips should try to move Thorton.

Not sure why the CLipps would have done this unless they are just trying to give Camby a chance at the playoffs this year

Forget that, I would have rather have dealt him to the Spurs for Mason/Bonner/Finley and give him a shot at a ring (for some reason, I still think SAS will get it together), then to the Blazers just so he can have a first round exit.

And I will say this....Steve Blake is a hell of a lot better as a backup to Baron than Sebastian Telfair. I think Telfair can be moved too.

Outlaw is a half year rental. Highly doubtful he returns to the Clipps. And Al doesnt exactly have high value around the league

Can someone explain why people are so high on Camby?
He's a weakside shot blocker, and rebounder... I don't get it. (Before people say I've never seen him play, yeah I have... Since he was on the Knicks in 98.)

I saw somewhere Thornton's on the block, I think NBC's Pro Basketball Talk blog. He and Outlaw are more or less carbon copies. This deal doesn't make a lot of sense for Clipper land, you'd think there'd be a lot more value out there for an expiring with Camby's ability, maybe there's some future picks or something.

Re: Ric Bucher: Camby to Portland is DONE DEAL
Two struggling teams looked to each other for help on Monday.
The Los Angeles Clippers agreed to trade Marcus Camby to the Portland Trail Blazers for Travis Outlaw and Steve Blake, a source close to the situation told ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher.
The 35-year-old Camby is second in the league in rebounding this season at 12.1 boards per game, to go along with 7.7 points. The Blazers have had a hole in the middle of their lineup since Gred Oden went down with a knee injury in December.
The 6-foot-9 Outlaw is averaging 9.9 points and 3.5 rebounds per game in his seventh season with Portland. Blake, a 6-3 guard, is putting up 7.6 points and 4.0 assists per game. He's coming off a 20-point, 12-assist game in a win over the Suns before the All-Star break.
