He had better body coordination and touch around the basket.

From what I've seen Young and Prime Shaq was stronger/quicker and far more explosive then Wilt and many people who have watched both of them play have echoed similar statements in regards to the two.

I really dont think its close.

Wilt would be forced to rely on his finesse game which was at times inconsistent and Shaq would get into his head with trash talk.



Wilt was "I am sure" capable of playing great defense when he wanted to and wouldn't make it easy on Shaq but he also rarely faced someone of equal or even greater size, strength and athleticism.

If he did manage to make it difficult for Shaq to use his quite accurate hook shots I can see Shaq abusing him down low with his cat quick spin moves or simply powering to the basket and dunking on him.

Never understood why people thought Wilt was stronger than Shaq. More athletic? Possible. Maybe even lifted heavier weights but that doesn't entirely equate to one's strength. Shaq was bloody thick, heavy and knew how to use his size perfectly. Shaq could physically abuse the likes of D-Rob who, like Wilt, was a gym-junkie. Unless Wilt can regularly face-up successfully against Shaq in one-on-one, he would lose.

Shaq would get an early lead but Wilt's conditioning and ease at getting baskets would pull him ahead late as Shaq would tire out from dunk after dunk.

This is alot CLOSER than one would think...Wilt slightly taller, both very strong men. This would be a crazy inside battle....i think Wilt's defense is being severely underrated here. He's the only guy i've seen be able to block Kareem's skyhook, on more than one occasion. I find this to be more of a defensive battle.

WHY do you believe that, "destroy"....Wilt himself was 7'1 280 pounds. Not exactly a small man. Shaq would have alot of trouble with Wilt's length.
