Re: Dwane Casey expected to return next season
It might sound crazy but that Isiah idea might actually work. Casey's shown that he's not technical enough for good/great teams. Keep in mind he was brought in for defense and they never made adjustments to their pick and roll D the whole season.
This raptor team sounds like a weak ass version of those lockout Knicks.
Those Knicks weren't supposed to beat the Heat in the 1st round. Because of that run, they thought the core of Houston, Sprewell, Camby, and grounded LJ was a contender. They gave everyone those big contracts and doomed their franchise for the next 10 years.
For some reason, the Raptors were really good offensively before the ASG. Lowry played like an All Star. Maybe it was just any easy schedule, but clearly they were over their heads especially during that funk right after the ASG.
Defensively they never really had any identity and teams kept attacking the Ross/JV P&R coverage and they never corrected it.
Bottom line, this team was never good, and Masai should know they are fools gold.

I'm positive that he does. It explains why he was mute at the trade deadline.

Re: Dwane Casey expected to return next season
Seriously, aren't they like maybe 10-15 fools gold teams ? Then the rest of the league are "pretenders". What would Masai have to do get out of the no-man's land ? Does he completely rebuild to get rid of the fools gold or does he retool the pretender to become a contender ?
Who does he decide is a treadmill player and who isn't ?

I believe Masai has explained himself about the trade deadline that he considered some offers but opted not to pull because it wouldn't fix the problem Raptors have had anyway.
