Tough call between him and Vonleh.
I actually hadn't seen a lot of him myself, so I took the time to watch all the available games of him, and I think he is overrated as a prospect all up.
He isn't exactly a PG. He will be a SG in the league. As far as his playmaking goes, it isn't at the level most are harping on about. As far as an athlete, he isn't all that explosive but he is very shifty and erratic similar to a Parker or Ginobili. Shot is better than most people say it is, although he is a pretty average to poor free throw shooter.
In all honesty, I see him panning out similar to Manu, although a slightly worse shooter, and not as good a playmaker (although that is no slight, seeing as Manu is probably the best passing SG ever, or at least up there).

After you went on a trolling spree in all Cavs related threads following the lottery without one deletion? Nah. Don't dish it out if you can't take it.

If he's as good as Manu, he deserves to go 4th for sure, if not higher. That will be a tough standard to live up to.
Your analysis over his exact position in the backcourt would be a little worrisome for me, though, if I'm the Magic. They already have one combo guard who isn't a reliable shooter in Oladipo. It seems to me he would be at his best next to a natural PG who can really shoot the ball and playmake.
Also, while Exum's frame is fantastic for a PG, if he's a SG or even a combo, it will be less of an advantage. I don't know... as much as I like lanky, long frames in my backcourt and defensively, I'm not sure I'd be able to pass on Vonleh for such an unknown commodity.
For me, the pick would come down to those two, assuming the top three go Embiid/Parker/Wiggins.

Think of him more as Shaun Livingston in Brooklyn this year. Sure, he can play some point for you, just like a lot of guards do in today's game, but really he is a SG, much like Livingston has slowly progressed into.

how is he overrated but you expect him to pan out similar to Manu. If someone is telling me that I get Manu Ginobili in this draft then he is going #2 or 3 at worst.
btw...still confused about the hype on Vonleh, someone please explain.

Well, he's 6'10 with a 7'4+ wingspan and nice build with good athleticism (37" vert). His wingspan is third in this draft, behind only freak of nature Embiid and 7-footer Isaiah Austin.
Meanwhile, he has range out beyond the three-point line, very rare for a player of his size/build. He's also an excellent natural rebounder.
That isn't to say he doesn't have his flaws. He has virtually no passing game, was a pretty poor finisher and wasn't a great shotblocker in his one year at IU despite all that length. Still, he was able to average nearly a double-double in an incredibly tough conference and is only 18.
He has a lot of upside and that's why he's so intriguing. Obviously, you don't consider him in the Top 3, but after that? He's at least going to be a stretch 4 who can really rebound well with the potential to be much more than that.
He's a pup with big paws.

I'll be upset if Orlando don't take exum or vonleh. I prefer Exum but if they think Vonleh is better I'd trust them. I hear Vonleh seems like a great kid who puts in work as well.
