How come most of the popular youtubers act and talk the same way?
You have the frequent jump cuts, and then the fact that many of them talk in the same way. I just read this article that explains it more eloquently than I could http://www.theatlantic.com/technolog...-voice/418962/
It's like nobody has their own personality now because they're all trying to emulate each other.

its the same way that flamboyant gay people all talk with the same lilty feminine accent,
Same as how old timey radio announcers all talked and sounded the same.
If you find the most successful way to speak, it makes the most sense that all the successful people start speaking in that way in order to achieve max success in their field, whether it is the field of gayness or radio or youtube.

its the similar persona that appeals and is marketed to the younger audience under 12. They relate to that type of personality. Its parallel to mainstream pop music, or mainstream music for that matter.
