Default If you were the new Bulls head coach how would you use their current roster?

If they do decide not to make huge changes, what do you want to see done with this roster? Who should be in and out of the starting lineup? I'd still like to see them go after Jeff Green. I think he'd be a great addition to the starting lineup at the 3. One thing they do need to do is bring in more offense. Someone like Jamal Crawford.

Anyways... one thing I want to see the new coach do differently is bring Noah off the bench. I think Gasol is perfect starting. I would start Gasol and Taj and bring Noah and Mirotic off the bench. That way the Bulls have a legit center starting and a legit center coming off the bench instead of starting two centers in Noah and Gasol together. I'd like to see more McDermott but I don't think he should be put in the starting lineup. I don't know about Dunleavy though. I think he should come off the bench if the Bulls keep him. I'd like to see them bring back Brooks. I don't want to lose him like the Bulls lost Augustin and Nate Robinson. And if Hinrich comes back his role needs to be reduced a lot.

This is the rotation I would go with if they bring back the same roster:

    Starting lineup:

    C: Gasol
    PF: Taj
    SF: Snell
    SG: Butler
    PG: Rose

    Bench:

    C: Noah
    PF: Mirotic
    SF: McDermott
    SG: Dunleavy
    PG: Brooks/Hinrich

But I wouldn't mind cutting Hinrich and Dunleavy and going after Jamal Crawford.

Your starting lineup has no shooters to keep defenses honest. And I think Rose and Butler can't co-exist. They are too similiar. I don't like Rose's game. He is all about attacking but can't necessarily elevate his teammates by setting them up. I don't think you can win with him. He has a beta mentality.

They really had no offensive system under Tibs. Too many iso plays and not enough shooters. They should run more p&r with Taj and Noah and get more shooters. They have talent, I just don't think they mesh. Mcdermott is a guy you have to see what he can do. Maybe he can be that shooter. I would trade Rose for possibly a more traditional guard who can shoot. That way he can run the p&r and shoot the 3 and let Butler be "the man" and see if he can develop an offensive game where it's good enough to carry the load.

put the ball in the hands of butler. make him a kobe type scoring play maker

run an offensive system built on ball/player movement. triangle or pop style

have butler break the triangle when a score is needed late in the clock or game if need be

trade rose for a 3 point specialist defensive minded PG that acts as a low volume SG on offense ( ala fisher )

    keep the gasol/noah front line

have pau in for the first 3 quarters but bench him the last 5 minutes in tough defensive grind it out plays/possessions

hire a coach that preaches offensive chemistry and team work. let the defensive anchor noah guide the team on the other end.

get a 6th man explosive scorer off the bench like an isiah thomas type guy

thats about it... derrick rose is the biggest cancer on the team and it needs to be cut out. a new leader must shine

i saw the 2 guys struggling to share the team leadership responsibilities this playoffs

rose was shook. trying too hard to make it his

No way they're trading Rose nor should they. He's finally going into an off season without any rehab. All he'll have to do this summer is practice and work on his game. Butler and Rose have a lot of potential. I think they can be as good as Curry and Thompson in Golden State.

If the starting lineup doesn't have much offense then I'd try McDermott. I don't want to see Dunleavy starting again. He needs to be a bench player. And like I said I'd like to see them possibly try and get Jamal Crawford.

And no to starting Noah and Gasol together again. They need to split them up. Gasol is the perfect starter and Noah should come off the bench and give Gasol a break.
