Default How bad is that Bucks trade now?

MCW is terrible. Point blank. They are worse with him on the floor.
When you consider they gave away the LA pick? If that pick conveys to the 6ers that is really going to look like a bad trade.

Said this at the time and still stand by it. MCW will be a backup PG in a couple years if he doesn't pick up his development pace.

The trade should have been Thomas/Plumlee/LAL pick for Knight. Heck, throw in the LAC pick they eventually gave up for Vasquez as a sweetener if need be. They'd be much better off offensively this way. That LAL pick could be Jamal Murry this upcoming draft.

I think they should have taken Portis over Vaughn too this past draft. Not related but something worth noting imo. Also got meager returns for Zaza and Dudley if I continue to pile on.

Not much worse than the New Orleans trade.

MCW returning completely killed everything Greg Monroe was giving that team offensively. I don't know who was replacing MCW as the starting PG while Monroe was out, but they need to stick with that guy.

them making the playoffs isn't guaranteed at all. i know you don't actually keep up with basketball but the bucks have a worse record than the magic right now, and it's really going to be a fight for those last couple seeds with New York, Orlando, Indiana, Miami, Charlotte, etc. all improving. The bottom of the East is no guarantee to the Bucks at all.

We really f*cked up not taking that Lakers pick. Giannis and Jabari have looked like future all-stars so far, Giannis moreso than Jabari because he didn't miss a year. Potentially adding a top 4-5 pick like Jamal Murray, Jaylen Brown, possibly even Skal if he drops past the top 3...would be incredible. Getting a tanking pick without actually tanking.

But I will take MCW 10 times out of 10 over Knight for this team. Knight is doing well as a combo guard next to a star point guard in Bledsoe in Hornacek's 2PG offense but he was an abysmal fit here and we did even worse with him on the floor than MCW. If you rely on him to run your offense and get others involved consistently you will fail completely and he will put up numbers at the expense of making everyone around him better. As weak as MCW is he's still a fantastic defender and at least tries to find guys so overall on most nights he's a net neutral.

The Bucks aren't going to be a playoff team in the improved Eastern conference which isn't that bad a thing for them. They over achieved a season ago and going forward will need to add more top level talent.

he hasn't been good defensively this year though. his DRTG is an abysmal 112.

Don't care what DRTG says, our defense has been so garbage team-wide it skews everyone's numbers, even the good defenders. Even at 112 he's 4th on the team for guys getting regular minutes. Individually he's been very good and is the only one outside of Giannis who gives a shit on defense. He's by far our best guard defender with Middleton blowing ass so far.

Forgot the bucks had the Lakers pick prior to that trade. Yup, that definitely makes this worse along with MCW's recent play.
