I hate all of this talk about HE NEEDS TO RETIRE. Of course, being a Shaq fan I've heard it plenty. As long as dude has the mind and the will to play, he should play. He is obviously not going to be able to do what he did, but he's still a 6'11 guy who can hit the jumper and defend other PFs. That makes him better than a lot of role players.

But if he is like MJ and decides he won't accept being a role player then he should retire as soon as his contract expires.

Well i think he has like 2/3 years on his current contract at about 20 million per year. I think he will retire after his next deal ends..

The one guy who should retire after this season's end is McGrady, watching the guy "play" is downright depressing, his body has completely given up on him.
Garnett still can contribute as a solid role player.

He is adjusting to his condition and pacing his body, this way he can continue 3-4 years, unless knee totally gives out. Several more years as starter IMO, after that - solid bench player, depends on the team of course.

The way he plays now doesnt require much athleticism, like yesterday 26/9 in 27 mins with insane efficiency, its a good contribution regardless how you slice it.

Behind his trash talk and taunting there is a real pashion about the game for KG.

He loves the game i think it will hurt him a lot when he cannot play anymore

I think when his contract is up... he seems to have to much pride to play at a low level for so long....

KG can probably save a year of his professional career by being calm before/during/after the game. I swear, dude spend so much energy and effort just to get up and get in the moment of the game. Relax!!!

By the time his current contract is over he'll have realized he's done. He won his title.
