The Knicks aren't counting on Metta the way the Nets are counting on KG/Pierce. Literally the entire Nets season comes down to KG/PP staying healthy. Otherwise the team without them can't even beat a team led by Nate Robinson.

Knicks need defense not more offense

from what i saw last season, MWP isn't a great defender anymore. Star forwards like melo, durant and lebron were blowing past him. lebron especially made him look really average last year.
