NBA MVP prediction: Little bit tough here with Durant going down, so I'm gonna try and get bold and say Derrick Rose. He's back from injury and the Bulls should have a very good season with a Gasol/Noah frontcourt. Their record will be very good and he'll get a lot of credit as well as have a great comeback story.

Rookie of Year Prediction: Wiggins - for all the talk about Parker being the most NBA ready, he hasn't really shown anything to separate himself from Wiggins, and I think Wiggins' body is built more for an 82 game NBA season, as well as playing with Rubio will give him more opportunity to get some easy baskets and make his stats look a bit better.

Defensive Player of Year prediction: Anthony Davis - essentially the modern day Kevin Garnett.

Most Improved Player prediction: This one's a bit hard because they usually come out of nowhere. I'm gonna randomly guess Jeremy Lamb just because someone's gotta fill in the Durant void to start the season and I'm thinking if he puts on a good show, combined with the fact that Sefalosha is also gone, that could earn him a permanent role and starting spot on the Thunder.

East Champs: Cavs - seems like everyone's picking either them or the Bulls, but for me it's still hard to bet against LeBron especially with a Love/Kyrie supporting cast.

West Champs: OKC - every year I think the Spurs are done by now, and the last couple of years I've been way off, but I think this might be OKC's year. They'll be hungry after the Spurs dropped them last year and prepare well for them.

Champs: Cavs I guess. It's a weird prediction to make this early, but I guess that would be my best guess.

    2014-2015 NBA Award-Winner Predictions

NBA MVP prediction: LeBron James - Might be the last year he wins it and will have at least Davis and CP3 amongst others chasing him, it will be a tight win.

Rookie of Year Prediction: Wiggins - Parker will be right there with him, this one will be close and team standing could play a roll. There is a few others who could surprise, but not for the award barring injury.

Defensive Player of Year prediction: Anthony Davis - Maybe a controversial pick, but sticking with my earlier prediction that he wills the Pelicans into the play-offs this year. His defence will become elite and be recognized.

Most Improved Player prediction: Jonas Valanciunas - Maybe a homer pick, but I'm expecting this is the year Jonas steps up his overall game and will show enough overall improvement to justify being in the mix with other potentials like Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (if he can gain confidence in that nice looking new jumper he's been showing) and Larry Sanders (hard not to improve off that disaster season when we all know he can ball).

East Champs: Cavs - Hard to go against the grain here when your prime competition is being run by a guy that has barely played in 3 years, there is only 2 other guys on this team from his MVP year. I don't foresee any surprises in the east baring a breakdown or major injury in Cleavland.

West Champs: LA Clippers - The west is crazy tough, but I think getting the ugly Sterling situation out of the way and have a new guy who is bringing in a GREAT business culture. The pieces are in place and I think they will break through this year.

Champs: LA Clippers - Dealing a huge blow to LeBron and the Cavs, the Clipps knock off the Cavs in a epic battle in which both teams get great team efforts every game but Blake Griffin plays hero too many times and the Cavs just can't match.

FMVP: Blake Griffin - Takes his game to another level and plays with heroic intensity and is the obvious choice despite great overall team play.
