Agree, but Wiggins is much more than just an athlete. Also the statement was putting him in the Phoenix system, look at how Gerald Green (just an athlete) reinvented himself and thrived in a similar up tempo scheme. Went from end of the bench fodder to 15.8ppg. So it is safe to say Wiggins could do a bit better than that (Seeing how he is the best athlete since LeBron) which is probably around where Marion is. Plus Wiggins is a better defender, and shoots the three ball at a decent clip, which matters even more now than it did when Marion was putting up his best numbers.

I think Wiggins could turn out to be truly special but I think he would benefit greatly from falling into the right situation. Example, I think his career development could mirror Scottie Pippen's pretty closely if he finds a mentor to push him like Scottie had MJ. Unfortunately, the Cavs/Bucks/Sixers don't really have anyone close to that.

I think Brett Brown would probably be the best coach for him tho.

Hell no. Marion was an elite defender and true scorer in the league. If he played anywhere other than PHX in his absolute prime, his D would be more appreciated. If Marion is Wiggins comparison, that's not bad at all.

Wiggins most definitely can create for himself. He has one of the best first steps in the history of basketball, and that isn't an overstatement. Comparing him to guys who were just athletes? Seriously?

This kid is winning the ROY. He is easily the best player in the draft by the way. Wiggins has more talent in his pinky finger than Marion does his entire body. He is not on his level as an athlete, or as an offensive talent. Wiggins' offensive game is more polished now than Marion's ever was.
