Many in the offseason said the scoring would be replaced by Favors and Gobert, but that was just not realistic. Rudy Gobert, a 12-14 ppg scorer, wasn't going to increase his scoring by over 10 points without outside shooting; same goes for Derrick Favors. Without spacing those player's potential scoring output has stayed the same. Rodney Hood for the season has been up and down, but he is showing some potential by coming off the bench.
Rudy was averaging 17 a game at the end of last year with 4 guys around him that could shoot. Rubio made no sense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!

the only player in a Jazz uniform capable of getting his shot off the dribble, off the screen, or anywhere, for that matter, in the offense
besides Burks who isn't allowed to do it

The offense literally has nowhere to go but up, but it literally doesn't have any hidden gems who can score the ball right now.
    Burks

Utah is reliant on Rubio pulling it together on offense, Rodney Hood becoming consistent, and Donovan Mitchell being the top scorer as a rookie.
    Good luck with that

We're only 15 games in the season and this feels like Mitchell's squad. The defensive identity still rests with Rudy, but the face of the franchise could be Donovan Mitchell in just a year from now.
It's their team. The new Stockton and Malone

while Exum looked to be ready to seize on his potential
    he did?

Donovan Mitchell has looked phenomenal and clearly appears to be the future of this team.
With Gobert dumbass! What about your all-stars Favors/Rubio/Hood/Exum?

Quite frankly, I think such obvious failure to compete should be punished.
Yet your wizard has done nothing but tank since he came here. Not trying to compete at the highest level is tanking as far as I'm concerned

[QUOTE]The Philadelphia 76ers have been notorious tankers for the past several years and while, yes, Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons, among others, certainly look like they have that team headed towards elite status in the not so distant future, there

Ricky Rubio, who is being listed as questionable with a sore Achilles. It is currently unknown whether Rubio has been hampered by his sore Achilles for some time now and it may have been a factor in his poor shooting. I can tell you from past experience that this injury can certainly affect your shot.
He's the worst shooter in NBA history! You are seriously making excuses for him? Has his achilles been bothering him since he was 14?

an already battered team missing three of its most important players in Dante Exum, Joe Johnson and Rudy Gobert
Johnson was sucking and Exum has done nothing but suck. Important?

Joe Johnson hurt his wrist and what was initially believed to be about a two-week absence has at least doubled.
Pay attention! They said they would look at it in two weeks but Snyder acted like it could be worse. That was the minimum time frame

Yes, as usual, the Jazz were injured. Ricky Rubio was out for the game with soreness in his right Achilles area, and Thabo Sefolosha didn't play because of soreness in his knee. Along with Rudy Gobert, plus the losses of Dante Exum and Joe Johnson, well, the Jazz were wildly shorthanded.
More excuses. Neto has played better than Rubio and he's always been better than Exum. You're making it real hard to take your articles seriously when you keep pimping Exum who has always sucked!

"There's a little bit of realism involved in this for us," Jazz head coach Quin Snyder said after the game. "Those are times when you need even more from other people. Our team has to realize that our margin for error is smaller. Tonight, we had some breakdowns defensively, but it's not like we were awful."
I'd hate to see what awful looks like. Oh yeah tonight!

Raul Neto had the best game of his career, scoring 22 points off the bench behind Donovan Mitchell in just 20 minutes. That included 3-for-6 3-point shooting and only 1-for-4 free throw shooting.
Highest scoring doesn't mean best. I'd go with outplaying Paul as a rookie myself. Has Exum or even Rubio done that?

Neto was more aggressive offensively than I've ever seen him, taking advantage of the space he was given and attacking in pick and roll to get himself baskets.
I'd guess with the injuries he was given a little more freedom instead of the usual bring the ball up the court and spot up

Neto's a limited player and probably won't get a ton of time when Rubio comes back. But he has a chance to earn himself a place in the rotation as the backup point guard instead of the Jazz finding a way to split the minutes between Rubio and Mitchell.
Continue to downgrade him all you want but he's a proven NBA ballplayer. Something Exum has never shown

let's also chastise Joe Ingles a little bit for not more frequently using his best skill: shooting the ball. Ingles has made every single shot he's taken over the last two games, which is a great accomplishment.

Unfortunately, he's only 9-9, and it hasn't been good enough for the Jazz to win their last two games. Here's what Ingles needs to realize: he's probably the Jazz's second or third best scorer in their starting lineup right now. He's letting his team down if he doesn't shoot the ball more.
You can't make players be something they aren't. He's not a scorer. Hood is not a go to guy. Favors is not a stretch 4. Rubio is not a scoring pg. Exum is not a pg. Once the Jazz realize this maybe they won't suck so bad?

the Jazz have five of their top nine rotation players out with various injuries, including their top two point guards in Rubio and Dante Exum.
Stop it already! Exum was not one of their top 10 players. Neto and Mitchell look like their top two pg's

They faced the Nets at the Barclays Center without Ricky Rubio and Thabo Sefolosha. They are learning defensive survival without Rudy Gobert. They continue to miss Joe Johnson and Dante Exum.
An NBA team playing without five of its top nine rotation guys is bound to have tough nights, even against the Brooklyn Nets.
One guy has actually not mentioned Exum as one of their top guys that they missed. What is it that is missed? The fouls? The bad shooting? The missed lay-ups? They miss Rudy and Thabo. The others are arguable certainly
