It hurts that there are so many rookies balling out and D'angelo is one of the few who looks like pure and utter shit. If the Lakers could trade him for Porzingis, Stein, Mudiay, Okafor, Winslow etc, etc the would in an instant. It's a simple fact that superstar players don't start their careers like this

Gary Payton had a crappy rookie year, he was also a #2 pick. Billups took a few years before he was any good. But you know what, you still see flashes of how good or great someone is going to be, this guy has shown absolutely nothing. He couldn't compete with d-leaguer's and looks so intimidated against real NBA players. Look at some other busts and you some similar traits.

in some way...it was a godsend to get that 4th pick....though we would have taken okafor with the #2 but all okafor is, is a shareef abdul rahem lite for his career...will not achieve anything...we would have passed on russell to take the big...same way we passed on mudiay to take porzingod

seeing flashes is more than looking at stats though. you want to see signs that the player can be elite. you want to see them making plays or getting by people even if the end result is a missed shot/turnover you want to see the build up that makes you think if they refine things a little bit they'd be great.
