The owners will fix this matter in some way. Move the date free agency begins, letters of intent or something. Too much of a chance for tampering in the current system. He could do just what was done to him, hit up an already committed FA and pursue them, kill the trade for Hibbert to the Lakers...etc.

Not necessarily repercussions to the Clippers, but what if Wes Matthews decides he doesnt want to go to the Mavs, what if Hibbert goes to the Mavs or Cuban throws more money at Robin Lopez to not go to the Knicks..etc

True but I'm just wondering about legal repercussions. Did the Clips do anything against the rules? I've seen people in other threads saying the Clippers should be fined, but I have no idea why.

The only repercussions that come from this is The Players will have even less wiggle room in Free Agency , rules will be changed. Cuban is the ultimate whistle blower amongst the owners , along with Dan Gilbert. Best believe the grace period to sign will be shorter now and you'll probably have to sign a letter of intent as some have mentioned already.

This was a circus , even more so than usual and I doubt all parties involved aside from The Clippers are happy about it. Especially Silver and the league office , they must be fuming right now.
