BEST Backcourt combination in the history of the league?
Backcourt duos don't really get as much attention as frontcourt bigs. But a good backcourt duo can really get you into the playoffs and dominate for stretches. What do you think is the best backcourt duo in the game?
I say Kobe Bryant and Smush Parker
combined for 69 points against the Mavs in 3 quarters.
and 94 points against the Raptors.
You don't get more dominant than that.
Too bad they were only together for that one year.

Isiah Thomas and Joe Dumars is the first one that pops into my head but I'll have to think it over.
PS - Smush Parker lol

I don't think the original poster is serious, but I'll bite and say Bob Cousy/Bill Sharman and Isiah Thomas/Joe Dumars.

Sharman is a nobody. I never think of Sharman when I think of Boston players.
Goodrich>Sharman
West>Cousy
And I'm a Celtics fan.

Kevin Johnson - Dan Majerle
Both these guys tend to get overrated on this board, although KJ was all-star level.
Penny Hardaway/Nick Anderson was a great backcourt for about 6 minutes at some point in the 90's...

1 vote for Cheeks/Toney in '82-'83 or '83-'84
Favorite to ever watch was Francis/Mobley

The classic prototypical backcourt. Too bad for Jonny's injuries because we could have got to see the remix with Hersey Hawkins.
I'd like to throw in there Gary Payton and Hersey Hawkins. Probably the best defensive backcourt ever assembled.
