It was a nice dunk, but I don't get why people are freaking out on it so much.

1. It was not from the free throw line. It was from infront of it.

2. Vince Carter has done it in game with his foot ON the line, and he is shorter. He did a 360 in game from the same spot Lebron James did the dunk you are talking about.

It's a nice dunk by James no doubt, but it's not worth multiple threads etc..

No player has ever* jumped from that far out in-game on a dunk. Period. Yes, Lebron's dunk was about a foot in front of the line (his back heel was just in front of the line, plus 13-15" for his foot size), but Carter's dunk was from a foot inside where Lebron's was (Vince was midway or just past midway between the hash mark and the FT line). LOL @ "he did a 360 from that spot." Nonsense.

* Samuel Dalembert dunked from the FT line in-game but it was aided by a push. Jordan had a dunk from a comparable distance (not sure if it's as far) but he took off from the side of the lane plus the camera angle shifted to underneath the basket, so you couldn't see it.

It's crazy that all those highlights came from one month of basketball.

Eddie Jones, Samuel Dalembert, Vince Carter, and little known Eddie robinson are the only others I think took off from even close to that far. And yea Jordan was riiiight there a couple times but never from straight on. He did a bit of a two hand cradel dunk from probably 13-14 feet.

Clyde da Glide did a massive dunk from near the FT line - he still had hair back then. Can't find footage atm, but it's around.

im not bitter and im not hating on him. he's a great talent, great player.

im hating on the nba.com choices. why so insecure?

2 days ago the top ten plays of the day had 3 crazy dunks at 10, 9 and 8 and then just a pretty nice but nothing special pass from lebron at 4 or something.

lebron is the truth, but lets be realistic and not go overboard.

and dont be such an insecure little ****er jumping to cunclusions.

true that, nba.com choices are sometimes ridiculously stupid.
And indeed, they tend to favour Lebron stuff above other material.

But to say that they would do everything to find something by LBJ, is a bit exaggerated

These Lebron threads remind me of the time we had a flood of Kobe threads. Maybe we need a "LBJ STICKY THREAD"

The fact that he did it with so much ease is what's amazing about it.

He could go back 2-3 more feet.
