Spurs: big game players; great passing team; just about everyone can hit from anywhere. Don't sleep on them just because Pop hasn't gone back-to-back. At the business end, they are far and away in the best team in the league.
I'd say Warriors are ahead of both the Blazers and Mavericks, particularly if they can keep Bogut healthy. Kerr is a real student of the game, and he'll galvanise his team. Over the coming seasons, it's between Curry/Klay and Durant/Westbrook as to who will usurp the Spurs.
No one in the East. Thibodeau probably gets his first taste of the Finals, even without Rose. It'll be a lean season for Lebron; Love can't defend, Irving can't pass, Blatt can't coach. Heat will go closer.

Spurs
Cavs
Bulls

OKC depends when Durant and Westbrook return if it's too late even playoffs may be along shot

No eastern team that much is certain.
Memphis looks like the dark horse the Mavs were supposed to be.

If these 5 players play as well as they can for the Spurs - Duncan, Manu, Parker, Tiago, and Kawhi - they're hard to beat. Need to get Tiago back from injury though, he's integral. Patty's Eddie House-type instant offense is needed too.

Warriors' health are suspect.
I think it's between Grizzlies, Spurs, and Thunder. Grizzlies have the tools, Spurs have the experience and Thunder has that top talents.
It's an open playing field for those three, depending on the matchups.
I think the Cavs will make the finals, but their lack of playoffs experience, defense and chemistry are going to hurt them.

Re: So which team is going to win the championship this year?
I see alot of nonesense in this thread. Let's be real here and separate the contenders from the pretenders.
Contenders:
Spurs - oiled machine, coasting, great O & D balance, best coach
Cavs - offensive talent and board domination + lebron + deep team + huge home court. They just need to mesh but the pieces fit much better than miami. If they get a rim protector at the deadline from a struggling team (denver) they'll be favorites imo.
In between:
Mav - excellent team, 2nd best coach in the L, need to see more of them.
Bulls - excellent team, too bad it needs a head coach to go with GOAT assitent thibs. Not sold on thibs understanding player management vs max wins possible.
OKC - best talent in the league (imo) but their offense isn't suited for the PO. When the refs swallow their whistles we'll see the same droughts we saw the last couple of years. They do match up very well with the spurs.
Pretenders:
Warriors - will be destroyed when their lack of inside play is exposed for the 9845334 time in a row in the PO
Clippers - the revival of the utah jazz. You don't win rings with a PNR heavy offense
Memphis - lack a go to guy
Miami - lack of rebounding will bury them
Portland - not enough talent
Houston - not a PO offense
