Why exactly does NY have no shot against Miami?

I don't understand why so many people downplay NY as if they have no chance in hell or something. Now many people feel they could beat the Bulls but not the heat, but I honestly feel they have a BETTER shot against the Heat.

The reason Bulls will give NY problems is because of our depth and superior defense. Then add our rebounding, and NY is not looking good in this series. People wanted to use the Rose injured card, but unfortunately for them, Rose is finally healthy heading into the playoffs (thank god) and just needs to work on gelling, that will probably take the rest of the regular season.

But with Miami, they lack a strong bench, strong perimeter shooting defense, and overall TEAM production, which NY has all of. Miami has 3 superstars, but that's pretty much all you can depend on, if the Big 3 aren't producing to standards, Miami will have big problems.

So in theory, if NY can take advantage of that weak perimeter defense and poor bench play, and if Carmelo and Amare can play like superstars, why don't they have a legit shot? People keep using the 8th seed explanation, but this Woodson coached team is not the team that earned them that 8th seed, that coach is gone.

It has to do more with what the Knicks can't do, not what Bulls/Heat can't do.
Knicks are a very inconsistent team.
They are very overrated as well.
I expect Tyson to play well, but that'll pretty much be it.
Knicks are getting the benefit of the doubt because they are the underdog.
Heat/Bulls don't because they are expected to win.
That makes a lot of people say Knicks will be tough.
Heat/Bulls are just too good.

I agree, i want the Heat since day one.

I don't understand why people are favoring the Heat vs Bulls.

Heat lost home court and split the series against the Bulls that played 2\3 of the season without their best player.

Yes Heat last year beat the Bulls 4-1, but scored only 11 more points in that series. Heat didn't improved a bit. Bulls improved a lot, CJ best season ever playing less 4 minutes than his previous season, Taj is better, Asik is better, Noah "Triple Double" is better, Rip isn't the only improvement.


Plus there are a lot of ghosts involving the Knicks on the Heat organization.

They are a crappier version of the Heat.
If you've seen the Heat play, you'll know what I mean.
BUT that doesn't mean they're a perfect matchup for the Heat.
Heat are too good for them. Bulls are too.

Heat/Bulls are taking the Knicks down.

The Knicks are New York's Clippers. It's just that New York doesn't have a Lakers.

"No shot" goes too far because they have Melo. But they're obviously the underdog because they'd have to face James and Wade. Chandler will defend Bosh as well as anyone and Shumpert will make Wade work hard for his points but in terms of starpower the Knicks are badly outclassed here. Much better odds vs. a Bulls squad whose superstar has been having injury woes all season.

that's almost a blessing in disguise. chalmers and company were eating him alive. we can't play that style of pick and roll heavy, turnover prone basketball against the Heat. they're too good about forcing turnovers and cashing in on them. I think we're better off collapsing the defense through melo post ups in that series.

Knicks are going to have to control the boards much better if they want any shot at the series. They got outrebounded by 14 in the last game. If the Knicks control the boards then I think the Knicks have a good shot because they have good star play, good role players, and a great bench.

Knicks definitely have a shot.
