Bronzy had a GREAT run. KD had a very brief, but good run nonetheless.

you can argue kareem was better in 1980, you can argue zekes bad boys owned mj in 89... you can argue shaq was more dominant in the first years of the 00's... you can argue jason terry owned lebrons soul in 2011 and wade was the true best player on miami
but no one can argue magic, jordan, kobe, lebron were the faces of the nba from those points onward regardless
the torch isnt entirely dependant on level of play. its who people think about 1st whos currently associated with the nba
