Sure. I would think he would have a strong case for being MVP if he wins the West or get the best record in the league.

People are hyping up Rose though, so it's going to be an interesting race.

But most valuable player to any team probably belongs to Howard. Without Howard, that team is nothing imo. But they are not getting the wins, so that throws that out of the bag.

I think rose deserves the mvp and second would be howard. Those two are the only that should win it. Kobe had a good week but rose has been doing it for the entire season kobe has more help his got the best frontcourt in the nba even when he was shooting bad they won.

Kobe with 28/5/5/2/55% TS in only 30 minutes.

Last 4 games:

42/12/9/1
37/7/6/2
30/6/5/2
28/5/4/2

Lakers get the best overall record and he has a real good shot.

Bynum and Gasol are huge factors in the Lakers performance. Not that Kobe isn't worth mentioning as MVP candidate, but it's not really one of his best years career-wise.

But this run not only has pushed Los Angeles closer to the top of the standings, it also has elevated Kobe Bryant back into the MVP discussion.

A few weeks ago, it was still up in the air in these eyes but as of late, Rose has edged into the lead. But it's not nearly as clear cut as everyone thinks. LeBron James is in the conversation as well and don't downplay what has happened in the Western Conference with Kobe Bryant leading the Lakers post-all-star surge where they currently sit at 15-1 since the break.

Differenece is Kobe can put up bigger numbers but he wants to get Gasol and Bynum ready for playoff time. Kobe can't win MVP because he's going to win Finals MVP and there's not enough room on the 2011 shelf for all those awards.
