Default lakers number 1 in the west, kobe mvp?

anyone agree with this notion?

or even with the fact if they get ahead of the bulls?

why another thread

Look at Rose / Howard threads on same subject

Just because Lakers may get the st or 2nd seed doesn't mean Kobe's stats would garner a MVP.
Rose is only the clear cut fav , because he carried the Bulls for many games as well as becoming the first option on his team ... not a very good recipe for a PG position.

Hasn't really played MVP caliber ball all season, but if it means Rose doesn't get MVP, I'm all for it. I'd give it to Howard or Durant before him but they don't have the hype behind them to get it.

i realize people are saying hes not playing mvp caliber ball, though if thats the case, neither is derrick rose. dwight howard would appear to be the only one, along with maybe lebron if we're going on previous seasons and what the stat 'quota' for mvp is.

kobes been more efficient and just as productive this season as rose has, and their teams have the same record.

but most of bulls fans are bandwagon lakers fans anyway, they followed phil jackson to LA when jordan retired.

If kobe wins MVP this year he will officially become the Most Overrated Superstar in NBA history. He hasn't played like an MVP all year, but his team is Really good.

Kobe didn't play great in the 1st half of the season, so he still doesn't deserve it if he plays great in the entire 2nd half of the season?

Eh? Per minute he's playing better than Rose and on par with his amazing career numbers.

MVP for that team is having the best frontcourt in the NBA - Bynum/Gasol/Odom

That's two 7 footers, one is a Top 2 PF, a Top 2/3 center, and Odom at 6'10 who is a great rebounder, can handle the ball like a guard, and plays D. And the best 6th guy off the bench who starts on just about every other team. And should be an allstar himself this year.

another underrated aspect is how good those Bigs pass to each other. Other teams don't have that dimension with their front courst like that.

You put an average frontcourt with Kobe that's an average team
