Default About Ray Allen shooting form

Im Nr.1 Ray Allen fan and his shooting form is FAR from textbook. Actually its wrong in many ways. His hand is not straight to the basket, his fingers is on side of the ball etc.. But it doesnt matter cause he's getting ball through the rim. Ask any bball coach and he will tell you that. The best one right now in NBA is Manu's form.

    /end rant.

Manu Ginobili is moving his elbow to far away from shoulders.... he is also holding the ball with his off hand kindof wrong

elbow is supposed to be looking like a straight line when looking from infront, going straight up from the shoulder and off hand is just supposed to hold the ball... its supposed to look like this:

It isnt so ironic that Steve Nash is THAT accurate of a shooter...

This. Nash literally has textbook form. If I had to nag about one thing though it would be that his elbow on his shooting arm isn't high enough but that is just trying to find something to btich about.

I hate posts like this. We are talking about form, not how effective Ray Allen is as a shooter.

If we want to talk textbook form, then Allen's elbow shouldn't be slightly flared out from his body. That doesn't make him any less of a shooter.

forrealest. No follow through, elbows wide, fingers on side of ball, still looks sweet, and if wide open-swish.

As a shooter it hurts me that people can't simply see the inherent superiority of RayRay's shot over Kobe's. The fewer moving parts, the shorter the motion, the more consistent the motion the better the shot. Period. Kobe is able to writhe and make some insanely difficult shots. But if you are talking about making X/100 he is LIGHTYEARS away from Allen.

Allen's motion is more compact, consistent, and identical every time. Kobe is the antithesis of this.
