It's kind of crazy that in 2010 we're still pretty much just using laces. You would think that something better would've come out by now. It's like on Seinfeld when George was talking about how nothing will replace toilet paper in our lifetimes.

They do have something better than laces. Velcro. But unfortunately only small children and old people get to use that wonderful invention.

True. I remember wearing shoes with velcro when I was a kid. It saved so much time, and you could do cool things like criss-cross them . I guess they're just not "cool".

Yeah, we have to give up many things that are clearly awesome for the sake of being cool. Fanny Packs are another fine example of one of these things.
