Default Lakers and Grizzlies trade scenario

Lakers trade Lou Williams and Brandon Bass to Memphis for Jeff Green(expiring) and their 2016 1st round pick(lottery protected).Green has been horrible this season and was recently benched. Memphis needs to add some scoring. Lou and Bass can definitely provide some scoring. They both have cost effective deals especially with the salary cap increasing in 2016 and 2017.

    Brandon Bass signed a 2 year / $6,000,000 contract

    Louis Williams signed a 3 year / $21,000,017 contract

The Lakers could also add Swaggy P to the deal in exchange for Vince Carter if the Grizzlies want him. Lakers can add their 2016 2nd round pick to sweeten the deal if the Grizz accept Swaggy P.

The Nuggets receive the Grizzlies' pick if it falls between 6-14. The Grizz have a very weird pick protection (protected top 5 and #15-30). Most likely they finish 15-30 so the Lakers get the pick.

    Mem can't trade their pick

They owe a pick in 16 or 17 then again in 19

But you really are stretching Lou and Bass vallue

I just think their contracts are very team friendly. Especially with the cap increase.

Mem can't really afford to give away 1st round pick because they might be entertaining a rebuilding situation soon.

They already owe pick for 17 and 19 so trading another 1st could leave them in a similar position to Brooklyn in a few years. If Mem is going all in for one final shot than Lou looks a bit more enticing but for a 1st???

The Lakers wouldn't do this anyways.
