i always love seeing an all-time great playing, even if he's (one of) the worst all-time greats.

it is nice that he can leave the game on his terms and not due to some career ending injury.. i had my doubts when he went down the second time last year... don't know how long it will last or if another injury is around the corner but you have to appreciate the effort he's put in to be playing at the level he is today after so many years in the league and those two injures that would retire some players

Re: We're all so fortunate to be watching bean again
I'm honestly pleasantly surprised by this. Even though he's shooting at a very low fg%, he's playing really well. Dude is regularly hitting 20 pts a night.
I really felt bad that night when he got injured against the GSW. Then he got injured last season. I thought for sure Kobe would come back averaging 12 ppg, playing 25 min a night, not having much stamina, maybe getting injured within a couple games, etc., but he's been reborn, re-energized. just awesome to witness

That was just a minor injury remember? He even admitted halfway through the season he could easily get back out there but the team wasnt any good so so he didnt see the point.

How did this sentence not open up some sort of multi-dimensional quantum vortex?
All time great
One of the worst
All time great.
An oxymoron of a statement if I've ever seen one.

Greg Popovich agrees
Despite Bryant becoming a thorn in his side, Popovich gushed about his return.
“It’s better than nice. It’s fantastic,” Popovich said. “Having Kobe back is huge. It’s huge for the whole league, not just his team. He’s an icon as a basketball player. To not have him out there is a big loss for everybody.”
and
I never had the pleasure to coach him, those All-Star deals were really fun to sit down and talk with him for 15-20 minutes to talk about life and basketball,” Popovich said. “I really cherished those moments.”

Kobe is a true student of the game, and I mean that in the strictest sense. He knows the math! For example, we have
points ~= FGA*FG%
So even when his FG% is low, he can maintain the points simply by increasing the FGA. In this way, he can regularly hit 20 pts a night. And this doesn't even factor all of the residual Kobe-assist opportunities. It's no wonder the Lakers are contending again this season!
