Barea is the closest thing to an alpha as you'll see with this Mavs roster. Not to say they're not well-coached or that Dirk isn't balling. It's just they're not intimidating as a team is all. Bunch of betas.

I'm still very skeptical of this team as the offense really hasn't been that good so far, but I gladly admit and hope I was wrong about this team being able to make the playoffs.
Still pisses me off to no end that we didn't just build out a solid team these last 2 years instead of chasing so-called "stars"...
But, so far, this has been a joy to watch...and if Parsons can come back within a month or so to playing 30 plus minutes...the offense could get a lot better.

for sure, I have very little faith in them winning a playoff series, still... I don't know what moves you could make mid-season.. first round losses piling, but making the playoffs is cool.
Its just disgusting how Dirk is still the best on the team
He does so much more than lets say Duncan since forever

Making the playoffs makes it worth it...I guess. I don't know...I'm so upset and torn about how Cuban and Nellie have handled this team since the 14 playoff series against the Spurs that I'm probably too angry to have a sensible opinion.
Still can't get over the idea of signing Isaiah Thomas for 6.5 million a year for 4 years in the summer of 14. Jesus...it was just such a ****ing obvious move...especially if the plan was clearly not to keep Ellis.
But, whatever, I have to get over it...

Charlie V - laughing stock of the league
Dwight Powell- dumped in the Rondo trade by the Celtics
McGee- cut from his former team
Evans- minimum contract scrub
Williams- cut by the Nets
Dirk is still by far the best scorer on that team, Mavs are 6-2 and destroyed the "contender" Rockets yesterday.
Quite funny, thought the Mavs would be one of the worst teams in the league.
Mavs are going to be back in rebuild mod after Dirk retires. Cuban's been pretty salty about what happen with Jordan and how the Rondo-Mavs went. I didn't even know Charlie V still plays lol. I think Mavs make the playoffs and make some noise this year.

Yup, swinging for the big guns is a good point too, with Carlisle and Dirk you could have gone the Spurs route and just go solid and solid players..
