Re: Portland traded Batum a few hours after Love opts out
Aldridge cant shoot threes. he's not a good fit for LeBron ball.
Aldridge was never going back to the blazers anyways. he put his house on the market a while ago..

He shoots the midrange J enough to space the floor and can play 5 with Thompson at 4. He could run P&R's w/ Kyrie, Lebron and maybe JR. Kinda like Bosh before he started moving out to the 3 point line. For those first 2 years on the heat he was all long 2's and it worked

Henderson and Love to Portland makes them a contender imo.....in the East.

LMA would have to take a massive paycut to sign with CLE. If he goes to Cavs via S&T, then Cleveland has to shed payroll. S&T hard-caps a team for that season.

There have been mumblings that LMA would be highly interested in Cleveland if Love opts out. He's probably about an equal fit on offense and a better defender. Would mesh better with LeBron and Kyrie on a personal level than Love did.
Could it be that Portland knows if LMA gets a shot at joining the cavs he will? And thus traded Batum and began descending into tank mode?
Time will tell. Cavs would be a great team with LMA instead of Love. The timing here is very interesting...
I don't understand what you're getting at.
I just flat-out disagree with your premise that he's a better offensive fit with LeBron and Kyrie, but that's another discussion.
The only way the Cavs would be able to make a deal for LMA would be through a S&T... so wouldn't it make more sense for the Cavs to S&T Love to the Blazers for LMA if that's the ultimate plan?
Which begs the question... why did Portland need to trade Batum to make that happen?
Love is a far better all-around offensive player than LMA. He's a better long-range shooter, passer and offensive rebounder. Love is also much younger.
LMA is the better defensive player, but I'd take Love all day, every day. It isn't just about next year. When Kyrie is 26, Love will still be younger than LMA is right now.

And that's the other thing making this almost impossible.

Doesn't matter, an assist is an assist.

So...these NBA players sit around and watch the playoffs. They see the intensity, the glamour, the publicity. They see the ratings and realize how many people are watching Matthew Dellavoda and not them.
Then they say, "LeBron has been to the finals 5 straight years. Next year, they are going to be even better."
LMAO that he wouldn't have an interest in Cleveland. Any player who watched this city blow the roof off Quicken Loans Arena and realizes it's going to happen again next year is interested. If not, that only means they're content with making money or they are afraid of the lights. Is MLA either of those?
