What is so hard to answer about this question? Lebron was a killer, putting up 39-8-8 on 49% but it wasnt enough because his team sucked.

Kobe's elimination game numbers for his entire CAREER are worse than that

His team sucked?
They won 66 games with the 1 seed, and were the favorites to win the Finals heading into the playoffs, including massive +550 favorites to beat the Magic.. so they didn't lose to favored talent; they lost to superior teamwork
Btw, we know lebron didn't drag his team more than other greats because he only averaged 28/8/7 - his 28/8/7 yielded 66 wins, while jordan's 33/8/8 yielded 47 wins in 89'. The only way lebron's lesser stats yielded 19 more wins is a better cast...
And MJ's 37/5/5 yielded 42 wins in 87'..... or 35/6/6/dpoy yielded 50 wins in 88'.... MJ simply had a worse cast, so he needed to do more...
heck, lebron missed the playoffs in 05' with a 2-time all-star center and had another all-star in 09' when he was upset by the magic.. MJ never had any all-star teammates until 90'... It's unfortunate that people compare mj's low seeds from 85-89' to lebron's high seeds from 06-10', when they compare more to lebron's 9 seeds in 04' and 05'..

ah...ah ...ah.... we already covered this the other day.
You said Atlanta's first time All-Star players in 2015 didn't really count as All-Stars.... so that means last second replacement, first timer Mo Williams certainly wasn't a real All-Star in 2009.
Don't be flip floppin', chico

Re: Why couldn't Lebron get past Dwight Howard in the eastern playoffs?
Dwight was an elite player, a perennial DPOY and MVP candidate during that period. It's pathetic that people here diminish him to try to undermine LeBron. He was never the same after he injured his back and he was never an overall dominant offensive force, but his defense was enough to put him among the best players in the league during that time before his back injury.
The Magic had several outside shooters who were on fire from three; the team shot over 40% from three in that series. The Cavs' centers couldn't contain Dwight in any meaningful way. Much of the Cavs success that year was due to having a strong defense, but the defense was far worse during this series than it was in the regular season and allowed the Magic's offense to perform far better than its regular season standars.
Meanwhile the Cavs offense rolled along at a very high level. The Magic were the best defense during the regular season, yet the Cavs offensive performance dipped only slightly compared to regular season performance. Mo Williams had been a strong second option on offense for most of the season, but crumbled offensively in this series.
Why did they lose? Well their offense was strong especially considering they were facing an elite defense, but their defense was awful especially compared to their regular season performance. As usual, the critique that LeBron not playing a system cost them the series doesn't hold up to scrutiny.
The difference between LeBron's team (the "no system" team) and Kobe's team (the "system" team) against the Magic on the offensive end was negligible. The Lakers matched up better on the defensive end though and held the Magic well below their regular season production.

So why did Kobe wipe his jizz on Dwight and the Magic's collective faces?
