Good job Durant isn't strong, can you imagine how much tougher he would be if he was?

3.) Because of how successful he is, and taking a bum-fuck team like OKC to the playoffs in the matter of 2 years I don't think no one gives a shit what he could bench over 2 years ago since he's pretty much been a success since the day he stepped on the court showing that Portland fucked up on another draft.

Skills and talent >>> Raw strength.
Where did this silly idea come from that Durant needs to bulk up? Why add weight to a frame which obviously isn't meant to carry much? If Durant gets stronger, he will get slower and have less finesse. NOT a good idea.
PS Cowherd is a foolish tool.

Who cares.
Bench press is the most overrated weight lift in the world.

Quality post.
Look how long his frame is and how close together his shoulders are. He is at a disadvantage before he even sits down at the bench as compared to a player built like a Kevin Willis [wide shoulders, short arms].
Oden bulked up in the shoulders and arms and his knees started giving him problems.....I don't think it's a coincidence.

This was 3 years ago. Give me a break. He was 18 or 19 years old oh well. I can put money on it he can bench that now. People need to realize the longer your arms are compared to your body the more difficult it is for you to bench or even lift alot since your arms muscles are so elongated.
Guys like Stephen Curry were made on for the bench press. Short Arms at his height or an inch below it. Durant arms are like 7 inches longer than his actually height 6'9.

Re: Kevin Durant can't bench 185?!
Let's make a few things clear:
1. It is unmanly to not be able to bench press 185, no matter what your profession is.
2. However, I'm sure Durant can bench 185 now.
3. Rick Barnes should have been embarrassed about this more than Durant..Obviously, there was no required weight program at Texas if Durant spent time there from July to April and wasn't able to get up ONE FREAKIN REP of 185.
4. Obviously, Kevin Durant is a hard worker. With his advanced skill set there is no denying that..but still..185 should have been a warm-up weight for any 19 year old college athlete, no matter how long his arms are.
5. nevertheless, its true that the bench press is overrated...One armed pull-ups are the manliest of manly excercises.

I've seen Ray work out. I'm sure 185 is nothing to him. When i saw him do bench he was doing 135 to exhaustion, probably over 30-40 reps.

Re: Kevin Durant can't bench 185?!
Lol, yeah, I remember hearing about this prior to the draft. That is crazy weak. Obviously, not hindering his play (at least it doesn't look like it). I could do that when I was just turned 15. I have long arms for my height as well. Granted, I'm not 6'9 with a 7'2 wingspan or w.e it was he has lol.

Wrong...the deadlift is manly, but the one armed pull-up is much more manlier. anyone can do a deadlift set...not everyone can do even a single one armed pull-up.
