That too. And like I said, no frontcourt scorer. That's a very good starting five, especially defensively, but it's not flawless.

This is the same exact team that lost two years straight in the playoffs to Dallas and okc. Oh wait, you just added one player named Nash and your ready to throw the title flawless infront of them.

The three point line was shortened in those years, so under those rules, Jordan actually shot the three pretty well and would suffice. With a normal line, you are correct... no legit 3 point threat.

Not just lost, but went 1-8 in those series.

The 12-13 Nets certainly have a case when they get Dwight.
Deron
Johnson
Crash
???
Dwight
if they can get a shooter at the 4 then they are in incredible shape.

Re: Has there ever been a starting lineup as flawlessly built as the current lakers?
Flaws:
Steve Nash can't play defense.
MWP is a ticking time bomb.
Andrew Bynum is the same, never know when he makes a dumb play.
Gasol is soft.
There's only one ball.

They just got Mirza Teletovic. He is the best player in europe and plays the stretch four. His 3 point shooting is great. He will be getting open shots all day with Dwight and deron.

Re: Has there ever been a starting lineup as flawlessly built as the current lakers?
There old. There is no flawless lineup. I know Net fans will be salivating (i think they would be a title contender with Dwight) but JJ is old and had injury problems, Deron has had injury issues, and Dwight has an issue with his back that at some point in his career will be a problem. It's not a if, it's a how bad. Plus their 4 could be great, could be crap. Look at other Euro's who come over.
MIami is small and they won the title.
BUt the Lakers, no that team is far far from perfect. Nash and Kobe are old, Metta is old, Gasol is old and loses focus at times, and Bynum is a moody douchebag.

A flawlessly constructed team where MWP is the starting SF?
I love MWP, but he's become a bit of a liability recently.

These are the main weaknesses and the main reasons how the Lakers will likely lose.

Did you forget his play at the end of the season when he was back in shape? He looked noting like a liability.
The most flawless starting lineup is the current Miami Heat once they acquire Marcus Camby, Courtney Lee and of course Jordan Hill.
Chalmers | Cole
Wade | Allen | Lee
James | Miller | Jones
Bosh | Haslem
Camby | Hill | Pittman
