Default Ray Allen reportedly to sign with Cavs next week, Cavs pursuing Hibbert

A source told Tyler Spence of the RSE Network that Allen is planning on meeting with Blatt this week or early next week.

“Has already informed players he’s signing with Cavs,” he added.
Rumblings about Cavs general manager David Griffin seeking Roy Hibbert have been confirmed by several reporters.

Spence said that the Cavs are reluctant to give up Dion Waiters in a trade.

“Complications in Roy Hibbert deal are obviously salaries. Most likely a 3rd or 4th team will need to be involved if a deal is to get done,” he added. Evan Massey of InkOnIndy.com confirmed that the Pacers received a call from the Cavs and are discussing a Hibbert deal. He later confirmed that the Cavs don’t want to give up Waiters.

Apparently the Cavs may have offered Waiters, Brendan Haywood, and a first-round pick.
Would Cavs fans welcome an Allen & Hibbert for Waiters swap?

Why the hell would the Pacers do this?

Ray Allen is pretty much done, but he'll still add some good scoring off the bench.

What the hell is this report?

I'm familiar with all the best Cavaliers beat writers. I've never heard of this writer or this website. And, the Hibbert thing doesn't even make any sense. First he says the Cavs didn't want to give up Waiters. Then, he says the Cavs offered Waiters, Haywood and a first round pick.

Nevermind that the salaries aren't even close to matching.

    I'm calling bullshit.

There is no way on god's green earth I'm giving up Waiters in any deal for Hibbert.

It's an absurd article. I'll need an actual source that I've heard of before I put any stock into any of this.

To tank, follow itu p by dumping West for a pick and Hill for one.

But really, JR Smith duex isn't the piece to rebuild with.

Doesn't make sense for either team.

Cavs have a solid center in Varej

    "Jordan status"? No.

But, he's a 23-year-old incredibly athletic scorer/playmaker whose gotten better and better over the course of his career and we haven't even seen him play on this newly made over roster.

Furthermore, it is about more than just Player A vs. Player B. It's also about Contract A vs. Contract B. Waiters is still on his very reasonable rookie deal and will be for another year, allowing us to make other roster moves while retaining his potential. Hibbert's contract is starting to look like an awful, awful deal.

And, beyond that, the contracts aren't even close to matching. This article is pure BS. He didn't even bother putting a modicum of research into it.

At least see if the salaries match, bro.

    Hibbert - $15 million

    Waiters - $4 million
    Haywood - $2 million
