1) Christy Mack said they broke up in May, but they were seen together holding hands at a MMA event last month

Even if this were true, what he did is still assault and battery with a deadly weapon.

Also, if she pulled the knife out first, I doubt the situation was War Machine knocking on the door and saying "Oh, hello.... wait, why are you grabbing a knife?" I'm sure initiating a physical fight with him is the last thing she'd want to do, so she probably grabbed it for defense when he was already showing aggression or when he was already beating up the other guy.
