I think playing basketball is pretty cool, so why should he retire when teams still can use him? I appreciate how Shaq handled the change coming of the bench. Not every ego can handle this. But he still comes with pleasure to the games and brings some fun. And yeah, he's the oldest player in the league, but which player of the Heat team will stop him in the post? He can't play too many minutes but he plays them with style and grace. I respect that.

He's is, and has been, irrelevant in the NBA for quite some time now.

Sure, his impact becoms smaller. But with the Heat, he had still a major impact. I remember watching the playoffs thinking 'damn they still have to double-team this dude everytime?'. I don't know about the stats but for me he's a big reason why Wade got his ring.
